  • Chris grew up hunting, trapping, and fishing in Nebraska. He has been doing taxidermy since 1979. He’s been a FULL-TIME taxidermist since 1985.

    He attended John Rhinehart’s school of Taxidermy in Janesville, Wisconsin. Then he worked for Hoppe’s Taxidermy in Columbus, Nebraska. He spent seven years in St. Charles, Missouri working at Wildlife Studio. Then six years at Alpine Taxidermy in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado. He spent two years traveling from California, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arizona doing freelance wholesale taxidermy for other taxidermists, helping them get caught up on their work schedules.

    He met his wife, Mary, a taxidermist and wholesale rugmaker for the industry, settled in Arizona and started his own business, “Kruegers Creations” in 1999.

    Beyond his present clientele workload, he has completed 15 mounts for Dick Cabela’s of (Cabela’s Outdoor Gear) private home collection. He has completed 11 small mammals mounts for the exhibit at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., and he is presently sculpting his own line of forms for a major taxidermy supply company.

    He started competing at state taxidermy competitions in 1985, on the National level in 1994, and on the world level in 1997.

    He is also an accredited Taxidermy Show Judge on the State, Regional and National levels, and is giving instructional seminars to other taxidermists at these shows.
